The Animal Kingdom is an American thriller series that was developed by Jonathan Lisco. The series is based on the 2010 Australian film with a similar name by David Michod.
The series made its first debut on June 14, 2016, on TNT and within a short period, it gained high appreciation and popularity from its viewers. With such a fanbase, the series is rated 8.2/10 from IMDb and 8.9/10 from TV.com and has already completed four seasons, and is now ready for its fifth season, which is already revived in 2019.
The series is followed by a 17-year-old boy, who moves in with his relatives after the death of his mother. His relatives, the Codys, belong to a criminal family that is governed by a matriarchal Smurf.
Regarding the plot of the season5, no information is officially released.
There is nothing that is officially released, however, based on the previous season, we are expecting that in the fifth season, there could be a war of succession as the family’s patriarch is already dead.
The main cast of Animal Kingdom includes Ellen Barkin as Janine “Smurf” Cody, the fierce matriarch of the family, Scott Speedman as Barry Blackwell, who is the Smurf’s adopted son, Shawn Hatosy as Andrew “Pope” Cody who is the eldest son of Cody, Ben Robson as Craig Cody who is the middle son, and Jake Weary as Deran Cody. He is the youngest son of Cody.
Apart from this cast, the additional cast in the series includes Finn Cole as Joshua Cody, Daniella Alonso as Catherine Blackwell, Molly Gordon as Nicky Belmont, and Carolina Guerra as Lucy.
Animal Kingdom Season 5 Air Date
The third season of the series came earlier in May 2018 with 13 episodes followed by the season 4 that was released in May 2019 with 13 episodes. So following the similar pattern, we are expecting the fourth season of the series to be released by May 2020. However, there is still no update regarding its official release date due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation. Nevertheless, we expect the airing of the next season in 2021.
