The show released on 27 September 2019, on Netflix. Bard of Blood is the adaptation of an espionage novel, Bard of Blood (2015) written by Bilal Siddiqi. The critics gave average reviews of the series. It scored 7/10 on IMDb. However, the audience loved the acting and the setting of the show.

Premises:
Kabir Anand is the protagonist of the story. He is a former agent of Indian Intelligence Wing. During an operation, his comrade dies, which leads him to quit his job as an Intelligence Agent. Kabir later takes up the job of a teacher and takes care of his friend’s widow.
One day, the Taliban in Quetta captures four of the Indian Intelligence Wing’s agents. The secret service director Sadiq Sheikh summons Kabir to save the agents. Kabir initially refuses to help, but later agrees to rescue the strangled agents. During his interrogation, he visits Sadiq’s house, where he finds him dead. Kabir becomes the suspect of the murder of Sadiq and tampering with the witness. Later he gets free of the charges. Then, he decides to follow the person who is continually following him. Kabir ends up strangled in Baluchistan.

Each episode of the show starts with a dialogue from William Shakespeare’s work. The season one managed to capture the attention of the viewers.
