The 2021 Bentley Bentayga marks the first significant model update since the 2016 Ultra Luxury SUV. Bentley has introduced several variants but is now receiving design changes, technology upgrades, and new equipment.
For Starters, the V8 is now a stock car (it’s the only car you can use to get started). The W12 engine is reserved for the upcoming 2021 Bentayga Speed. Which is expected to continue to be claimed by the brand in the United States. The twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine puts out the same power as before, with 542 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque. That’s great for 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. The most significant mechanical change on the Bentayga below is the 0.78-inch wider rear track. Bentley claims this will reduce driving overhead and improve linearity.
Some of the major changes are design related. According to Bentley, this setup is inspired by the new Continental GT and Flying Spur. Each with redesigned front and rear. It has a larger Matrix grille, a new Bentley-style headlight with a crystal bottle, and a more aggressive front bumper with more ventilation. The bonnet is raised 30mm for a more impressive front view. There are new cornices and V8 badges on the sides of the SUV, and even more changes on the back. Redesigned tailgate with wide aft and new decorative oval taillight. The bigger oval tailpipe pantomimes the modern taillight layout, while Bentley expands an extended roof spoiler to provide the car an additional elegant and sporty glance. The new 22 ” rim design (available in two versions) complements the cavalry and two new paint colors, viridian (dark green) and patina (near white mid-tone).
The interior is probably the most important part of a Bentley. The center console has a new look. Bentley has offered a new steering wheel, new door panels, and new seats. Bentley builds on new technology by integrating a 10.9-inch touchscreen and infotainment display into the B-pillar just below the new air vents and watch design. The system adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Bentley upgrades the car’s USB port to a USB-C port. Bentley also uses a fully digital Continental GT and Flying Spur instrument cluster. Even rear passengers are getting better as Bentley is adding larger touchpads to control the rear seats faster than ever.
The price is said to be 5% higher than before, but Bentley did not provide an exact price. The current version of the Bentayga V8 starts at $ 167,725. According to Bentley, the first update will be available in the US “in the coming weeks.”
