Adam Price has created a political drama back in 2010. This Danish show was written by Adam Price himself, along with Jeppe Gjervig Gram and Tobias Lindholm. DR, a Danish broadcasting company has produced the show. DR has previously produced popular shows like The Killing. We have 3 seasons till now, with a total of 30 episodes.
Each episode has a runtime of about 58 minutes. Borgen is directed by Soren Kragh-Jacobsen and Rumie Hammerich. The first season made its debut on 26th September 2010. The third season was released back in2013. The protagonist of the show has been believed to be modeled after Denmark’s first female prime minister named Helle Thoring Schmidt. This is somewhat of a dubious claim because Helle was not elected before the show was made. In fact, she was elected after the completion of the second season of Borgen. But, there is no denying that the protagonist of the show, Birgitte Nyborg, has a sense of idealism in her. The creator Adam Price wants the viewers to believe that quality is rooted in reality.
Borgen has done very well, in fact, is maybe one o the most critically acclaimed series of the political drama subgroup. This show manages to depict the rise of a politician and how power affects people. This show has won many awards, including the Best International TV Series, Peabody Award in 2013. Borgen is now world-famous and viewers across Europe, U.S.A, Canada are all eagerly waiting for the next season.
Will there be a fourth season?
Fans can rest easy because it is known that Netflix has joined hands with DR in creating the fourth season for Borgen. There is no specific date of release yet for the upcoming season, but our guess is that the fourth installment will be released in 2022. Netflix will be putting the three seasons for streaming on its platform on 1st September 2020. Might as well, rewatch the series till the fourth season gets here. As per reports, the new season might feature Nyborg as she adjusts in her role of the Foreign Minister.
