‘Cobra Kai’ is an American comedy series. The show is a decent adaptation of a very famous movie, The Karate Kid. Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald are the creators of the show. The show premiered on YouTube premium on May 2, 2018. The main USP of the show is its narrative format. Almost after 34 years of the release of the original The Karate Kid movie, the show narrates Johnny Lawrence’s viewpoint. Cobra Kai is one of the most popular comedy show to binge. It scored, 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. On YouTube, it has a viewership of over 5.4 million within 24 hours of the release.
Recently, NetFlix acquired the streaming rights of the show and will be premiering the third season soon.
About the Show Cobra Kai Season 3
The show revolves around Johnny Lawrence, 34 years after his defeat in the 1984 All-Valley Karate tournament. He is currently living in an apartment in Reseda, Los Angeles. Johhny has lost his job down the line. One day, he saves a neighborhood boy, Miguel Diaz from the bullies, using his Karate skills. Miguel lives with his mother, Carmen. Miguel gets impressed with Johnny’s skills. So, he asks him to train him in karate.
Johnny is reluctant first because Miguel is asthmatic. But, he agrees to train him later. He opens up ‘Cobra Kai’ dojo for training people. The news spreads up and reaches his arc nemesis, Daniel LaRusso. Daniel is a wealthy businessman, who maintains a car dealership enterprise. Cobra Kai instigates a group of bullies, who were training in original Cobra Kai run by John Kreese. Johnny and Miguel develop a special bond. This reminds us of the relationship between Daniel and his teacher Mr. Miyagi.
Cobra Kai Season 3 Updates
The shooting of the third season has already commenced. But, the third season won’t be premiering on YouTube premium. Earlier this year, Netflix bought the streaming rights of Cobra Kai. Along with the third season, Netflix plans to release the other two seasons as well. Although, the release dates aren’t out yet. But, we can expect the season to roll out anytime this year.
