The cast and crew have dared to film eight episodes of Guadeloupe despite the COVID-19 pandemic looming over production. The most recent series in Death in Paradise has won the new head detective DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little), who replaces DI Jack Mooney (Ardal O’Hanlon). Neville now lives in the life of St. Marie, although there have been many other personnel changes at the Honore Police Station. When will Death in Paradise return for season 10?
CONFIRMED: Death in Paradise season 10 kicks off Thursday, 7 January 2021 at 9 p.m. on BBC One.
Filming for season 10 was scheduled to start in April 2020 but (as you might expect) had to be suspended due to the global pandemic. In announcing the news, creator Robert Thorogood said, “At least we will all be thrown, but we will return – someday – hoping to kill people as quickly as possible.”
Production resumes on the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe in July 2020. And after much effort from the actors and the team, the show will hit our big screen on BBC One in time for its usual date in January.
Death in Paradise Season 10 series
The “Death in Paradise” cast for Series 10 has been announced – and there are some real surprises when the old characters return to St. Petersburg. Mary’s, as well as several well-known guest stars.
Initially, Ralph Little returned as DI Neville Parker and joined the show as last season’s new top detective. In the ninth season, he spends most of his time on the island complaining about the sun, mosquitoes and spicy food. Despite his strong desire to go home for the next flight as soon as the DVT (deep vein thrombosis) subsides, the detective sees the final episode – and decides to stay.
Administrative Producer Tim Key announced, “Josephine Robert is pleased to be helping with him again and we are sure spectators will adore it when she attempts to bargain with Neville.” Joséphine Jobert isn’t the only celebrity to join the cast for season 10. Sarah Martins returns as DS Camille Bordey (from seasons 1 to 4) for two episodes, while original series host Ben Miller (DI Richard Poole) returns. back for the cameo – details are still a mystery.
