The updated Volkswagen Passat was tested in India for several months before launching on sale. Volkswagen India stopped production of the Passat before the BSVI standard went into effect, but the German brand appears to be presenting the car here again.
The big change for the new car is that it is now powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. This device puts out 190PS and 320 Nm. The engine is now available for the Tiguan Allspace and Skoda Superb and like this one can be used with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Volkswagen has finally unveiled its D-segment Passat in India at a starting price of 29.99 horsepower (formerly a showroom in Mumbai). This flagship sedan is available in two versions: Comfortline and Highline with six color options and one drive. The third-generation Passat is a direct rival to the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, and the Skoda Superb sibling.
Like the exterior, the Passat has a simple and functional interior layout. As a flagship, the Passat offers all the bells and whistles offered by the German giant. Leather covers, three-zone air conditioning, motorized seats, ambient lighting, and smartphone integration are standard. This sedan comes equipped with parking assistance and drives modes as standard, as well as a number of manual safety features.
The design of the new Passat is understated yet elegant. The new family design of the German car manufacturer is applied. The grille is similar to the Tiguan and is surrounded by LED daytime running lights. The taillight also has a slim styling similar to the base model.
This sedan is based on the MQB platform and is manufactured at Volkswagen’s plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. This is the second Volkswagen in India to use the new MQB versatile platform after the recently unveiled Tiguan SUV. Modern platforms are 70 kg thinner than the original model.
