Don’t Look Up

Don’t Look Up is an upcoming American comedy film with political satire written, co-produced and directed by Adam McKay. The film features an ensemble led by Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio who play two low-level astronomers who try to warn humanity about an asteroid that will destroy Earth through a media tour. The film, which is produced by Hyperobject Industries and Bluegrass Films, is scheduled to be released by Netflix in 2021.

About The Film:

This film follows two astronauts who try to warn humanity that an asteroid fell on planet Earth and only six months remain. The Empire had previously announced that Leo and J.Lowe would play the lead, a pair of low-level scientists who, after discovering that a meteor would hit Earth in six months, would go on a media tour to try to warn the world but to find an unacceptable and unacceptable population. Back in February 2020, writer McKay spoke about his excitement at joining Jennifer Lawrence and told Deadline: “I’m really excited to make this film with Jen Lawrence. That’s what people in the 17th-century call ‘dynamic talent.’

Filming:

On February 19, 2020, it was announced that main photography would start in April 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the delay was delayed. Filming began on November 18, 2020, at various locations in Boston, Massachusetts. Part of the film was set in New York, while Brockton, Framingham, and Westborough were shot in Massachusetts. Filming is expected to continue through February 2021. On the morning of February 5, 2021, while shooting a scene, Jennifer Lawrence was lightly injured in a malfunctioning controlled glass explosion.

Release date:

On February 19, 2020, it was announced that Netflix plans to release the film in 2020. Filming and release were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The current publication is planned for 2021.
