Dan Fogelman has written and created a musical comedy series called Galavant. Alan Menken and Glenn Slater have produced the music and lyrics. The show made its debut on 4th January 2015. Galavant has been said to be a mixture of The Princess Bride and Monty Python. We have 2 seasons till now with a total of 18 episodes. The first season had eight episodes and the remaining 10 were in the second season.
What is the story about?
The show follows a knight named Galavant, who isn’t having the time of his life. But he is optimistic and thinks he can turn it all around so he goes off in search of evil king Richard. He is assisted in his quest by a squire named Sid and a princess called Isabella. King Richard has kidnapped Madalena, the love of Galavant’s life, and tries to win her over with the help of Gareth, his henchman. He also seeks advice from his chief named Vincenzo.
The show is about Galavant’s journey and the story is told through numerous musical numbers. Many liked the tale of a knight looking for his love. Even though the jokes can be a tad predictable, their execution and the music makes up for it. No one will deny that the show is entertaining. Many would say the plot progresses slowly but that’s all the more reason to start binge-watching! Both the seasons of Galavanthas had positive reviews. It’s thanks to ABC network that we got to see a different type of comedy.
What about the next seasons?
There probably won’t be any more episodes of Galavant. The show was added to Netflix in 2016, but now it is going to be removed. In fact, the show will be leaving the list on 7th September 2020. But, this is not the only show that is going to leave Netflix in September, the “Once upon a time” show will also be removed.
So where can we see the show after September? That’s not exactly known right now. It should have been Disney+, but there’s no news of that now.
