Reception:

Generally, positive reviews had been received by “The Serpent” in the UK. Rebecca Nicholson, who wrote in The Guardian, gave the first episode 3/5 stars, felt the timing jumped unnecessary and confusing and wondered if the program had anything to say because she admired the atmosphere and “the routinely amazing cast.”
