on pointe

This year-long documentary series explores students at the New York School of American Ballet as young dancers practice and prepare for auditions and shows. On Pointe kicked off the season at the School of American Ballet (SAB) in New York. The series offers unprecedented access to a renowned ballet institute and follows the lives of students aged 8 to 18 who make their dreams of becoming ballet dancers come true.

While older students from across the country are rigorously trained for their careers, younger students from New York practice and perform on stage at Lincoln Center in George Balanchine’s classic New York ballet “The Hazelnut Crusher”.
