Like most of the anime series, Given is also based on a manga, also called Given. The manga was written by NatsukiKizu. The anime series is produced by Lerche Studio and it was first aired on 12th July 2019. The first season reached its conclusion on 20th September 2019. The director was Hikaru Yamaguchi. The special factor in this series is that it resembles reality. While monsters and magic have their well-earned place in anime, realistic stories like Given also deserves a chance. It is a music anime with a fantastic soundtrack and a suitable animation style. Given has the potential to be your favorite if you decide to invest time.
Given Season 2 Plot
The story is about a high school student called RitsukaUenoyama. He is the lead guitarist of a band and has no experience in love or relationships at the beginning of the series. The band has other members, namely, Akihiko Kaji and Haruki Nakayama. They are the drummer and bass guitarist respectively. Ritsuka meets Mayufu, and as they get to know each other, it becomes apparent that Mayufu is an incredible singer. He has the potential to become the lead singer of the band. Mayufu plays the guitar, which is given to him by his dead boyfriend Yuki. There is also a romantic tension between Ritsuka and Mafuyu. The name of the is “Given”, in the context of Yuki, who has committed suicide, giving the guitar to Mafuyu. It is a heartwarming story about gay relationships and love for music.
When will season 2 come out?
The anime has good ratings on popular platforms and it is not irrational to hope for another season. The manga has five volumes. Perhaps it is too early to say anything about season 2 but a new sequel anime film of “Given” will come out in 2020. The fans can hope for season 2 to come out in the next year. Because there is no dubbed version, non-Japanese fans will have to be content with subtitles.
