HBO has officially confirmed their preparation on a prequel show called House of Dragon, which revolves around the Targaryens. Soon, after reports broke, the network announced that prequel to Heroes’ Age and Naomi Watts was not to be shown in series anymore.
In September 2019, HBO was first reported to be in the process of ordering a Targaryen-focused project pilot. Now we have a better vision of what the fiery series is all about. So here is all we know about the House of The Dragon.
House of The Dragon Season 1: When Will It Premiere?
At TCAs for 2020, Casey Bloys, HBO programming’s President, estimated House of the Dragon will arrive in two years ‘ time. According to Deadline, “My guess is sometime in 2022.” Bloys added that the creative team had already begun writing.
It’s based on the book- Fire & Blood by George R. R. Martin.
The Martin tome, originally released in November 2018, on House Targaryen’s history, will be the source of the next series. As a result, it dates 300 years prior to the Game of Thrones timeline we know about. covers important battles such as Dancing of the Dragons and the post-Valyrian Doom.

Paddy Considine will play Viserys Targaryen
The first cast member announced for House of the Dragon was the star of shows like Outsider, the Peaky Blinders, and more. Entertainment Weekly got a new character description, teasing the potential plot points for the series.
Prince Rhaenyra Targaryen, the High Tower of Queen Alicent, Aegon II Targaryen, and Prince Daemon Targaryen are among the other roles. Meanwhile in June 2020, Entertainment Weekly reported that the casting was already underway. However, not all the particular roles were at that time disclosed.
George R. R. Martin’s involvement will not be for a while.
In a blog post about the news, ‘Song of Ice and Fire’ author confirmed that he was involved in the new series. But, not until he finished writing the long-awaited sixth book, inspired by the original series Game of Thrones.

Soon, Martin also proposed to revisit countries for Game of Thrones. The exotic locations of Ireland, Iceland, Scotland, Croatia, Morocco, Malta, and Spain, in his new series blog post.

When HBO ordered an aircraft pilot at House of the Dragon, things went crazy. A complete 10-episode series is actually being ordered in the network news ruptured. HBO had previously published the project’s first promotional poster, complete by the very slogan of Targaryen: “Fire will reign.”
