About Kamathipura, the upcoming web series
Kamathipura is the largest red-light area in India and one of the largest in Asia. It is ill-famed for its redlight area.
Amazon Prime is bringing the series Kamathipura addressing the issues of the biggest and most infamous red-light area of India.
Sharavan Kumar is the director of the web series. Shravan is the director of many renowned movies and web series such as 706, and The Advocate.
The series stars, renowned actors such as Meera Chopra, Anang Desai, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, and Chirag Trivedi.
The expected plot of Kamathipura:
The story revolves around Meera Chopra (Section 375 fame). Meera is playing the role of a cop.
The plot thickens when Meera sets out to investigate a murder in the Kamanthipura area. The story will most probably depict the lifestyles of the people selling their bodies at Kamathipura.
According to Meera Chopra, they had to go through very shady and congested lanes as they had to navigate through Kamathipura. They also visited such places where the public can not enter at all. This all was done so that the characters could relate to the story more closely.
Kamathipura Release date
The series will be under Amazon’s original series.
There is no official announcement on the dates of the release of Kamathipura. We are still waiting for the release of the second installment of Inside Edge.
We can expect the series, Kamathipura to be on air only after the release of the second part of Inside Edge.
But, it will be on the air sooner than we can expect, because the production of the movie wrapped before the country went for the lockdown. If everything goes right, the series will be on air between mid-July to August.
