Knives Out 2: After waiting for almost 2 years, “Knives Out 2” is finally coming out. But unfortunately, no such official date has been announced yet. But the cast and the creators are dropping enough hints to the fans to anticipate what is waiting for us in the sequel.
Writer-director Rian Johnson got the confidence to continue the series since the first part got enough positive response. So, he decided to craft another one around Daniel Craig’s character.
What do we know about “Knives Out 2” so far?
It is anticipated that the character of Detective Benoit Blanc will have a major character development via solving mysteries and cases. By January 2020, it was revealed that Johnson was focusing on a story for the movie, and Craig had agreed to take his place.
Lionsgate Films officially authorized the sequel in February 2020. However, in March 2021, it was announced that Netflix had completed a $469 million agreement in bidding, outcompeting Amazon and Apple, to get the license to two parts of Knives Out. According to Variety, the deal was mind-blowing.
The filming has already commenced in the month of June this year and is expected to get completed in August.
Will “Knives Out 2” continue the story of the first part?
Johnson has explained that Knives Out 2 won’t be a sequel to its namesake, but rather a self-contained film starring Detective Benoit Blanc.
He compared the movie with Agatha Cristie’s novel, stating that everything will be brand new, with a new cast, plotlines, and structure.
What about the casting of “Knives Out 2′?
In May 2021, the following list of actors was confirmed: Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson, and Leslie Odom Jr.
Bautista stated that he got a call from Johnson that he had no idea would progress to a potential casting and was persuaded to apply for Knives Out 2. Madelyn Cline, Jessica Henwick, Ethan Hawke, and Jada Pinkett Smith were introduced to the cast the following month.

“Knives Out” was a crazy ride for so many spectators, grossing just over $310 million in total.
