Lucifer is an American urban fantasy television series. Tom Kapinos is the developer of the show. It premiered on FOX on January 25th, 2016. The story is the adaptation of a DC comic character featured in “Sandman” comics.
Lucifer later became the solo protagonist of a comic book series published by DC.
Jerry Bruckheimer is the producer of the show under DC entertainment and Warner Bros Productions. Initially, the critics gave mixed reviews but it improved as the seasons advanced. FOX canceled the third season of Lucifer. Later Netflix picked it up and released its third and fourth season.
The story revolves around, Lucifer Morningstar (Satan). He quits his job at hell and plans to go out on a vacation for a while. So he plans to open up a nightclub in Los Angeles.
The story develops as the crime rate starts to increase in Los Angeles. These crimes confuse the LAPD. Here, Lucifer despite being Satan decides to work with LAPD as a consultant. Because of his supernatural power to make any person confess to the crime and tell him the deepest desires. Also, he can get down to their darkest and deepest desires and fantasies.
The series gives a mixed approach of emotions to the audience. Ranging from humor to empathy. The series truly has a huge emotional spectrum.
Season 5 is still waiting to be released and the audience has already started to hope for season 6. Netflix earlier announced that season 5 will be the finale of the Lucifer series.
But, according to recent development, Tom Ellis, Lucifer, has cleared that there will be a season 6!
After saving the dying Lucifer series after FOX dropped it, Netflix with Warner Bros. decided that 5th will be the finale for the Lucifer series. But with the recent contract renewing with Tom Ellis, the path for a sixth season got cleared the way before season 5 is even released!
Tom Ellis will be returning as the Lucifer Morningstar.
