“Magical Girl Pretty Sammy” known as Mahou Shoujo Pretty Sammy. AIC and Pioneer LDC has produced this Japanese original video animation. The series shows Sasami as a girl with magical abilities. The series has done the job of recasting the characters from Tenchi Muyo! Into new roles. There is even an English dubbing of the show. The original show is popular enough to inspire two more shows based on it.
What is the story of this series?
This show was not an anime originally. At first, it was only a voice drama. It had its beginnings b=way back in 1993. The show is about Sasami Kawai and she is asked by the magical queen to take on the role of “Magical Girl Pretty Sammy”. Basically, she has to preserve justice. The show is quite a simple parody of the genre of “Magical Girl”. It is entertaining to watch Sasami as she manages the role of the Magical Girl, something that she didn’t want to be in the first place. The popularity of the series is forcing the network to make plans about its sequel. There are no confirmations, but the sequel might b called “Sammy 14”. The second part might concentrate on Sasami’s teenage years.
When will part two release?
Unfortunately, there is no news of an official release date from either the Studio or the show makers. Even when the show is renewed it will take a lot of time for it to release. Perhaps it might even take a year. If we had to guess, we would say that the potential date of release for this anime might be in 2022 or it may be delayed some more. The second season might have 26 episodes, and it is very costly to make an anime series. If the Studio can crowdfund this series, then this is definitely on the cards. The fans can only hope that the second part comes soon.
