Marcella is a British “Crime Noir” television series. Hans Rosenfeldt is the creator, writer and director of Marcella. It hit the screens on 4 April 2016, on ITV. The first season consisted of 8 episodes, aired weekly. After receiving positive reviews, the second season released on DVD on 16 April 2018. Other than ITV, Marcella is available on Netflix for the viewers outside the UK.
Marcella received the renewal for the third season on 3 October 2018 and will be airing on Netflix.
Plot:
The story runs around Anna Friel as Marcella Backland. She is a former British detective. She has to return to the detective services after 11 years, because of a serial killer who gets active again. Apart from this, she has to manage her strangeling family. Her husband, Jason, makes an abrupt decision of leaving Marcella. It creates the issue of taking custody of the children. Marcella starts having blackout sessions. As a result, Jason uses this mental disorder issue of Marcella and takes full custody of their children. Marcella begins the investigation of the serial killer, who is also a pedophile.
The investigations lead her to a millionaire, 70s rockstar. She finds out that this rockstar is also involved in some sort of witchcraft. While all this is going, Jason gets himself involved in a relationship while their divorce is still under process. This situation complicates the things between Jason and Marcella. While all this is going, Marcella goes under counseling to deal with her blackouts.
Marcella Season 4, What about it?
The third season released on 14th June 2020, left the fans in wonder, that will there be a Marcella season 4?
There is no certainty that there will be the fourth season since their latest season released recently.
But, if there is any chance that we will get the fourth installment of Marcella, it won’t be anyone earlier than two year
