Natalie Portman is an Israeli-born American actress, director, and producer. Fertile in films as a teenager, she starred in blockbusters and also starred as a woman with a mental disorder in an independent film, for which she received various awards, which includes an Oscar as well as two Golden Globes.
Portman began his acting career at the age of 12, playing the protégé of a young assassin in the action drama Léon: The Professional (1994). In 1998 she made her high school debut in the Broadway Theater in the production The Young Girl’s Diary and received international recognition for her role as Padme Amidala in The Phantom Menace (1999).

When he was three years old, his family moved to the United States because his father lived in Maryland. At an age of 4 she started taking dance lessons.
Portman was born in Jerusalem to Ashkenazi Jewish parents. She received the Israeli Hebrew name Neta-Lee, literally meaning. She is the only child of Shelley, an American housewife who works as an agent for Portman, and Avner Herschlag, an Israeli gynecologist. His maternal grandfather was American Jewish and his paternal grandfather was a Jewish immigrant to Israel.
Portman and his family first lived in Washington, DC, but moved to Connecticut in 1988 and Long Island in 1990. Smith Jewish School in Rockville, Maryland. He studied Hebrew while he was living on Long Island and attended a Jewish primary school, Solomon Schechter Day School in Nassau County. Portman has been interested in foreign languages since childhood and has studied French, Japanese, German, and Arabic.

Portman will reprise her role as Jane Foster in Thor: Love and Thunder, due out in 2022. She is the same character in the Marvel Disney + animated series What if.? In March 2021, it was announced that Portman would produce and star in the limited series adaptation of Laura Lipman of The Lady in the Lake starring Lupita Nyongo. She and production partner Sophie Mas recently created MountainA at a Glance on Apple +.
Portman received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in Drama and an Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in Black Swan, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for “Closer.” She received two other Oscar nominations: Best Supporting Actress for Closer and Best Actress for Jackie; and two other Golden Globe nominations for Supporting Actress and Best Actress in a Drama.
