Originally, Natsume’s Book of Friends is a manga series. It is created by Yuki Midorikawa. Hakusensha was responsible for beginning its serialization in the LaLa DX magazine in 2005. The manga series is centered on Natsume, as is obvious by the name.
Natsume is an orphan who has the power to see spirits. His grandmother had a notebook which she used to keep the spirits under control. The notebook comes into Natsume’s possession by inheritance. This manga is very popular and successful as well. It was in the list of finalists for the Manga Taisho award.
This manga has been adapted into an anime series, as is the case for much popular manga. The series was broadcast on TV Tokyo. Takahiro Omori and Kotomi Deai have directed the series. The anime falls under the genre of slice-of-life anime shows, but it is one of a kind. There are too many slice-of-life anime available today and it has become easy for us to escape the really good ones. This anime will take you on a great journey and will make you emotional.
It is important to get through the first couple of episodes for the enjoyment of the anime. You must give this show a chance as it has a lot to teach you about life. It has good character development and pacing. The plot is pretty much straightforward with no complicated and unnecessary twists and turns in them.
When will the seventh season be here?
The very first season of Natsume’s Book of Friends came out on 8th July 2008. Till now, we have had six seasons of the anime with a total of 74 episodes. It is very much likely that the creators will make a season 7 of the series. There is no dearth of the source material as there are still many volumes of manga to be covered. Even though there is no official release date yet, the Studio just might announce another season of this series because this anime is far from over.
