About the Never Have I Ever
The show is somewhat an adaptation of the childhood stories of Kaling, growing in Boston. The story features, Devi Vishwakumar. Devi is an Indian-American, 15 years old girl from Sherman Oaks, California. After her father dies, Devi somehow loses the use of her legs. She gets into a deep depression kind of state after the demise of her father.
The following year, she tries to battle with her identity in her school. She wants to break free the stereotypical mindset of people about Indians in their schools. Apart from her struggles in school, she has to work on the relationship with her mother, and her cousin Kamala. Eleanor and Fabiola are her best friends. They help Devi to overcome her struggles and also in dealing with her school crush, Paxton. Not only this, to thicken the plot, but Devi has a nemesis, Ben.
