Returning director Adam Robitel knows that there is a potential for a sequel to the teen-friendly horror film “Saw-meet-Cube”, as the first film ends with a sequel that promises to expand the world. Original screenwriter Bragi F. Schutt (who co-wrote the first film with Maria Melnik) and producer Neil X Moritz are also returning, but like most other upcoming films, this sequel has had a lot of delays.
No Escape Room 2 Release Date
The sequel was originally scheduled to hit theaters on April 17, 2020, before a series of delays to bring it back to January 1, 2021, in the US and January 29, 2021, in the UK. That would fit into the January slot which worked really well for the first film of 2019. But then Sony delayed the sequel to an unspecified release date of 2021 so we don’t know when it will be released at this time.
No Escape Room 2 Cast
Well, the first film didn’t leave too many characters alive to return to the sequel. Of the six unfortunate people who enter the escape room, only two escape alive: shy student Zoe (Taylor Russell) and grocer Ben (Logan Miller). The official casting announcement confirmed the anticipation of Russell and Miller’s comeback. They are joined by Pose India Moore, the Netherlands, born to Teen Wolf, Isabel Furman of Sirac, Carlito Olivero, and Thomas Cockerel.
The plot of No Escape Room 2
So the first film shows that the six players were chosen because they only survived various events, including a plane crash and a carbon monoxide leak. At first, Ben believes that he is the only survivor of the No escape room and meets Gamemaster (Yorick van Wageningen), who tells him that some rich people bet on the game and watch it all. While the plot is kept secret for the sequel, she has to get off this rock and see what happens to Zoe and Ben. Whether they will go live as part of a pre-title series before we follow another unlucky group of players remains to be seen, but we won’t be betting against them.

Prior to the final delay, Robitel said in September 2020 that the trailer was in development, but we assume that all plans to release a trailer have also been postponed.
Now that the sequel has confirmed its release date in 2021, we are waiting for the first trailer.
