One Strange Rock Season 2

Overview

The American nature documentary series “One Strange Rock” has been extended to a second season and co-produced by National Geographic and Darren Aronofsky. The series will continue to explore the Earth and its places, making it a kind of place on Earth. It shows the different nuances of life on Earth and how life on the blue planet survives and develops.

By Will Smith the previous season of the series aired on National Geographic and hosted. The series also features important work by astronauts Chris Hadfield, Nicole Stott, Jeffrey A. Hoffman, Mae Jamison, Leland Melvin, Mike Massimino, Jerry Linenger and Peggy Whitson.

One Strange Rock Season 2 Release Date

The first 10 x 60′ season began on March 26, 2018 and ended on May 28, 2018.Since then, it has been available to stream on Netflix from November 1, 2019, but was later transferred to Disney Hotstar in January 2020.
The series was released by National Geographic for an update on July 25, 2018. But it is not yet clear when the new season will be released in October 2020. The first season became the fourth most watched TV series in the world with 81 million views. Darren Aronofsky is the executive producer of the show alongside Jane Root, Arif Nurmohamed and Peter Lowring

When asked to Aronotsky, he also said, “With the help of National Geographic and the rich talent and experience of Jane and Nutopia, we launched this ambitious project to give the public a new perspective on the living planet. There are so many things I want to cover in Season 1 but I can’t. Thank you for having the opportunity to further show the beauty and magic of our planet on the screen.” Filming for the main film of the second season was due to begin in February 2019, but there was no progress and there was no clarity about the possibility of a second season.
