The real reason for Sherlock Season 5’s delay is ultimately the involvement of the cast and crew in their respective undertakings. In a recent chat with Collider, Martin Freeman was asked about the possibility of Sherlock another season i.e. season 5. The 47-year-old actor, who plays the part of Dr. John Watson in the series based on Sherlock Holmes detective tales, said that not only he but Steven Moffat, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Mark Gatiss are keen busy and that is the reason why they do not want to run the chance of destroying the show’s heritage by producing a superb season.

Plot

Till now, no official revelation has been made regarding the story of this fifth season. Though, we figure that season 5 will begin exactly where season 4 left. In the previous episode, we saw Erus reaching out of nowhere. It was completely a wonder because we did not believe that Sherlock has anybody else in his nearest and dearest. It ends with some plot holes. Therefore, We are confident that the fifth season will flow around the lives of the three protagonists and will build more mysteries.

Releasing Date

The renewal of Sherlock Season 5 seems to take more time due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation that devastated the entire entertainment industry with impenetrable financial loss in the last couple of months. Nearly all the movie and television projects were halted and postponed for uncertain time. Thus, we need to wait further for its renewal.
