Sword Art Online is a Japanese Adventure and science fiction anime series. ABC Me, Aniplex Channel, TV5, Adult Swim (Toonami) adapted the show for the English speaking audience. ‘Sword Art Online’ is the adaptation of a Japanese light novel series written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by ABEC. The critics appreciated the anime adaption of the literary source. The audience too loved the setting of the show.

Premises:
The show revolves around a virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game, called Sword Art Online. The game requires a special helmet, NerveGear, the player can stimulate all the five senses of the brain. This enables the player to control the character. Approximately 10,000 players log in to the game. Later they discover that they cannot log out of the game. Hence, they get stuck in the game. To escape the game, the players have to beat all the 100 levels of the game. Players who die in the game will die in reality as well.
Kazuto “Kirito” Kirigaya is one of the players. He has the advantage of being the tester of the game when it was in the beta stage. He isolates himself from the other players. Later he meets Asuna Yuuki. Soon they fall in love and then they get married in the game.
Season 4:
The show, ‘Sword Art Online’ gained popularity with time. The audience loved the unique setting of the show. The creators announced the renewal of the show for the fourth season. The series’ original release date was in October 2020. But, the COVID pandemic affected production. Causing the release of the fourth season to postpone. We can expect season four of the show to come around in 2021.
