The Black Summer season 2

Good news: Black Summer is coming back on Netflix in 2020 for a second season. While the series was unable to get underway with production throughout most of 2020, all of which changed in September 2020. Here’s the latest in Netflix’s zombie epic for the coming second season, including filming dates, release dates, and what we can expect from the story.

Black Summer is an original zombie thriller series by Karl Schaefer and John Hyams, created by Netflix. This series is labeled as a precursor in the beloved crazy zombies, which are located in the same Z-Nation Universe. Taking a more nuanced one, compared to his companion series, with an intimate and darker tone.

The series’ imaginary minds, Karl Schaefer and John Hyams are credited with a Netflix original. The threat from zombies is far from over at the end of the first season. Fortunately, Season 2 of the Black Summer is coming back to the small screens soon.

The plot focuses on a mother who seeks her daughter after the military has taken her. Then she joins an alien group that is also looking for their loved ones.

Black Summer Season 2 Resumes Filming

Season 2 began production very early this year. However, as with other TV and film productions, the coronavirus outbreak stopped filming. If in March the production team delayed the series.

They intended to resume shooting in April. The pandemic took hold, and there was a permanent hiatus for the show. Now, in July 2020, a new ProductionWeekly report indicated that on August 17, 2020, the series was due to start filming again. We’ve had an additional report since then, with the update that filming was pushed back to September 3rd, 2020.

The first season’s filming began in July 2018 and concluded by the end of September 2018. According to our source, the filming, as confirmed by Karl Schaefer on Twitter at the end of November, is again taking place in Calgary, Canada.

“Black Summer” isn’t a “Z Nation” series prequel

Many fans have speculated that the show is connected with the series in the same tone as the Z National series. It’s even labeled a prequel, but the difference is that Black Summer is darker than Z Nation. In an interview with Screenrant in April last year, however, both the producer and the lead star, Jaime King, clarified that Black Summer is not linked to Syfy’s Z Nation.
