Based on the novel, “The handmaid’s tale”, the series was released on April 26, 2017. It is an American – tragedy series created by Bruce Millers. The series is being featured on HULU streaming services. The series has received appreciation from critics and the audience alike.
The series was nominated for “Primetime Emmy Awards” in which it won 8 awards out of 13 categories. Not only this but The Handmaid’s Tale also won the “Golden Globe Award” for best TV series. This show became the key highlighter for HULU streaming services, as this gave it a major recognition.
The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 Plot
The story is set in America in the “post-civil war” scenario. Everything has fallen, including the world order. Society is dominated by power-hungry bureaucrats controlling everything using advanced military powers. The environment has deteriorated badly and has affected fertility rates.
These power-hungry leaders have divided the society into classes, where the major victims are the women. Infertility has prevailed everywhere due to which fertile women have been captured and enslaved. The women are stripped of their rights. The women captured are subjugated based on biblical accounts. These women include single mothers, women with multiple marriage records, non- Christians, homosexuals, and such. These women are given
the term “Handmaiden”.
June Osborne is a handmaiden of an officer Fredd. June was married before she became handmaiden. She had a daughter named Hannah. June was enslaved because of the adultery she committed with his husband Luke. Their daughter was taken away from them and was sent to a high family to raise. Her husband somehow manages to escape to Canada. The story revolves majorly on the desire of June’s to get reunited with her daughter.
Is there any chances for Season 4?
An emotionally captivating story of “The handmaiden’s tale” has moved many of its audience. All three seasons of the series have been a major hit. Casts of the series have confirmed season 4 to be released but when no one knows yet. In season 4 we can expect the rebel of June against oppression getting bigger. Elisabeth Moss on her Instagram handle mentioned that the shooting has been stopped due to COVID 19 and will resume as soon as the situations become safer for everyone.
