The Queen's Gambit

The Queen’s Gambit is the new American web TV web series by Scott Frank and Allan Scott. The 1983 novel by Walter Tevis is the basis of the series. The Netflix premiere is scheduled for 23 October 2020.

This is a new era drama on the horizon, and behind it, there is a very promising creation group. What’s the Queen’s Gambit, Netflix’s next Calt Warset miniseries, here’s how you should know.

The preview presents Taylor-Joy ‘s Beth as a prodigy girl in the men-dominated chess world. It also points to the addiction battles of Beth, it is a family history of mental illness and certain lasting emotional scars that threaten to disrupt its phenomenal success. See it above in full.

It’s based on the novel of the same name by Walter Tevis.

Some of Tevis’ other books have already been adapted successfully for the screen: The Hustler, The Color of Money, and The Man Who Fell to Earth; now The Queen’s Gambit turns. This novel follows Beth Harmon from the 8 to 22 years of age to become an orphaned Chess prodigy while she struggles to be the best player in the world.

The director and the writer of the show

In addition to his work on Netflix’s feminist Western Godless, Allan Scott (Don’t Look Now, The Witches) is a co-creator and executive producer alongside Frank, who is known for penning the screenplays for Minority Report, Logan, and more. Alongside Scott, William Horberg (The Talented Mr. Ripley, Milk) executive produces.
