Top of the Lake
Top of the Lake is a mystery drama series by Campion and Garth Davis, written by Jane Campion and Gerard Lee. It was televised in 2013 and the following, Top of the Lake: China Girl, was broadcast in 2017. It marks the first TV job since An Angel at My Table in 1990.
The series was initially conceived as an Australian Broadcasting Company co-production. But after Moss was cast as Robin, before production was initiated, the network funded an Australian actress through an arrangement before production was initiated. Series 1 follows detective Griffin (Elisabeth Moss) and investigates the disappearance in New Zealand of a pregnant 12-year-old child. Five years later, Series II, China Girl, was in Sydney, investigating the death of an unsuccessdden Asian girl on Bondi Beach. Series 2: China Girl.
Bbc Two, UK BBC UKTV, Australia and New Zealand co-produced Top of the Lake, and US-based Sundance channel. It was typically greeted quite well.
