Tuca and Bertie is a critically acclaimed series, created by the wonderful cartoonist Lisa Hanawalt. The adult sitcom was called one of the best shows of 2019. It was aired on May 3rd, 2019. The voice works as well as the animation was amazing. But Netflix rudely canceled the incredible series only after one season. Everyone had hoped that the series would find a way to continue. There was an enormous backlash from Twitter users and many columnists expressed their negative feelings. The show is famous for its female representation. Tuca and Bertie focus on two grown-up women who live near each other. The two birds are very different concerning their personalities. Tuca is cocky and vibrant while Bertie is anxious.
Tuca and Bertie Season 2 Plot
It is no secret that Tuca and Bertie quickly becomes an animated gem for adults. While there is a bit of similarity between Tuca and Bertie and Bojack Horseman, the two series are different enough to give the audience meaningful experiences. The series shows two women who are longtime friends and roommates, Tuca and Bertie. They live in Bird Town. Tuca is a very confident toucan, lover of life, and comes across as an avoider of responsibility. Bertie is a tightly wound up neurotic songbird. Bertie is so shy that she cannot be more upfront at work. She also nurses dark secrets and has a repressed unrealized dream.
Both characters are complex with psychological issues acting as obstacles. But the heartwarming aspect of the story is the depiction of the female friendship. The plot is entirely driven by the emotional needs of the leading women, and the influence of male characters (Speckle may be an exception) is almost nonexistent.
Tuca and Bertie Season 2 Release date
The show is coming back with a second season with 10 episodes. Adult Swim has given permission yet there is no precise release date for Season 2. Perhaps due to coronavirus, fans may have to wait till 2021.
