Many famous TV shows and movies are getting a renewal for the younger generation. The famous documentary show, featuring some bone-chilling murder and paranormal stories, Unsolved Mysteries is finally getting a reboot after many spin-offs. Netflix will be releasing the show this year.

About the Original Unsolved Mysteries

Created by John Cosgrove and Terry Dunn Meurer, Unsolved Mysteries is an American mystery documentary series. The series initially released with the title, “Missing… Have You Seen This Person?” which changed later. The series features cold murder and paranormal stories in a documented format. It premiered on NBC on January 20, 1987. The show is in the dramatized format of the real-life story. The real-life characters verify the stories by their testimonies and experience shown in between the show.

Although NBC released the series, NBC ran a disclaimer saying that the show is not a part of the news broadcast. Raymond Burr, Karl Malden, and Robert Stack were the presenters of the show then.  For nine seasons, it premiered on NBC. For the tenth season it shifter to CBS on November 13, 1997. The season started to slip down the ratings after its 11th season, and the show canceled further releases after its 12th season. The series received many attempts at resurrection.

As of 2017, Unknown Mysteries, manage a YouTube channel where people can submit their own real-life stories. If selected by the channel, it gets featured on it. Recently, FilmRise acquired the rights of the show and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Videos. Hulu started the streaming of the show in July 2017, in the United States of America.

The reboot of Unsolved Mysteries:

The series received many reboots to rekindle the excitement it had back then. Throughout the journey, many streaming channels tried to revive the show, but not everyone succeeded. In 2019, Netflix decided to pick up the show for another reboot.  Netflix released the trailer of the show 2 days ago. The release received unexpectedly good reviews. The show is set to release on 1st July 2020.
