An American documentary film of the year 2020 “Dick Johnson Is Dead” was directed by Kirsten Johnson and co-written by Johnson and Nels Bangerter. The story concentrates on the father of Johnson Richard, who suffers from dementia, characterizing in different ways—some of them violent “accidents”—in which he could ultimately die.
In each scenario, the elderly Johnson plays along with his daughter’s black wit and creative fantasies. The documentary is the genre of the series.
Plot:-
Richard Johnson who is often referred to as Dick is a retired clinical psychiatrist suffering from dementia. Kirsten Johnson his daughter involves him in a series of imaginative executions of his impending death. Johnson moves her widowed dad, when his memory starts going, to her New York apartment where they can not only spend more time together but can make a film.
Various imaginary demises are being played for Dick like a sidewalk accident, a mock funeral, a heart attack, a glittery ascension to heaven populated by luminaries like Buster Keaton and Bruce Lee. While Chuckling Dick explains that She kills him multiple times and he comes back to life. It is more than humor and considers it an excuse to hang out together. It also means through cinema, of clasping each other closer and facing down their fears.
Kristen Johnson wanted to put her father out to sea on an iceberg and she had a budget for it for the first time in her career. But she has to consider safety as the most vital restrictive parameters.

On January 25, 2020, the film Dick Johnson Is Dead was premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival but it is scheduled to be released on October 2, 2020.
